ZOELLER + HALLER = Highest Competence for Waste Collection and Logistics

ZOELLER and HALLER merge to become a major player in the European market for waste collection
technology.

With effect from January 1st 2010, the ZOELLER Group is taking over the majority
holding in HALLER Umweltsysteme GmbH & Co. KG, Berlin. The ZOELLER Group is
logically continuing its growth on the European market for lifter systems and waste
collection vehicles after its acquisition of the French manufacturer SEMAT in 2008.

With the acquisition of HALLER Umweltsysteme GmbH & Co. KG by the ZOELLER
Group a wide competence portfolio is being created. Due to the competence of the
HALLER brand as an internationally present market leader in technically and
qualitatively high grade waste collection vehicles and the competence of the
ZOELLER Group in the field of lifter systems and also with EKOCEL and SEMAT in
the waste collection vehicles sector, the new association of companies holds a
future-oriented position in all product segments. In future, HALLER will function as
the umbrella brand for competence in the house of ZOELLER in the field of waste
collection bodyworks. With the acquisition of HALLER Umweltsysteme GmbH & Co.
KG by ZOELLER Group, the continued existence and further development of the
HALLER brand with its well-proven technology is assured in the long term. In
addition, it is planned to continue to retain the autonomy on the product side and
locations of the HALLER brand within the new Group. The leading lifter systems from
a technical aspect on the international market for many years will also continue to be
marketed under the ZOELLER brand, regardless of the bodywork provider.

The fundamental importance of waste collection systems for the new affiliation of
HALLER Umweltsysteme GmbH & Co. KG to ZOELLER is also emphasised by the
structure of the future executive board at ZOELLER, to which the Managing Director
of HALLER Umweltsysteme GmbH & Co. KG, Dr.-Ing. Axel Panne, also belongs with
immediate effect. Together with the Chairman of the Executive Board, Mr. Thomas
Schmitz, and Dr.-Ing. Axel Panne, Mr. Volker Schröder, as Commercial Director,
completes the executive board.

With this acquisition ZOELLER and HALLER are establishing their position as one of
the leading international manufacturers of technology for municipal waste purposes.
The widely diversified international service network and the comprehensive range of
superstructure and lifter products to meet market requirements offer clients
technology and support at the highest international level. In addition to HALLER’s
innovative LoToS collection and transport system and container-washing vehicles of
the MBR family, well known over many years just as the hybrid drives from HALLER,
that have been well launched in Germany and Austria, ZOELLER are opening up
additional sales fields in the international sector.
